Specialty Woods
Specialty woods is a general term for wood that is highly figured. Figured wood could be described as curly (tiger stripe) quilted (uneven wavey pattern) or clusters of burls. This can happen in most wood species. As the wood grain fibers twist and turn it creates an illusion of highs and lows which make the wood look striped as the light reflects off of it. As a result, it creates marvelous beaty.
